Goward House Portraits
The Goward House Portrait Painters group helps artists build their observation and portrait painting skills.
The group asks relatives and friends to sit. The the deal is, if you sit for us and if you like a portrait, you can take it home free (or just take a picture--your choice) as a thank you for sitting. It’s relaxed, friendly and fun. Sitters gaze out onto the beautiful grounds of Goward House while the artists paint. Sitters often remark that it is interesting to see how each artist interprets them on canvas and paper. There can be up to 12 artists in a session, all at different levels, using a variety of mediums. Some paint in oil, others in acrylic, pastel, gauche or watercolour.
The portrait painters meet at Goward House on Tuesday afternoons, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, with a break in between. Contact me at [email protected] if you’d like to set up a time to paint or sit. There is no cost--just a couple hours of your time. Help us build our skills!
